Drifting Apart

This project started in 2015 and ended in March 2018. The project  has been a motivating and enlightening adventure, building new bridges between the continents that share a common geological, natural and cultural heritage. Main outcomes of the projects were: manual for best practices for tourism industries, manual for supporting territories in become Unesco Global Geopark, tools for geoheritage interpretation, the common geological storyline and the geoVR virtual exhibition.

geoVR software has been developed by Doublethink and Magma Geopark, creating a virtual itinerary which allows visitors to travel in time and space worldwide.

The partners in Drifting Apart are from Norway, Iceland, Canada, Russia, Scotland, Ireland and Northern Ireland. The project is funded by the European Commission’s Interreg North Periphery Program.
