European Geoparks Week 2020
The European Geoparks Week, taking place at late May early June each year, is a European – wide festival of Geoparks aimed at raising public awareness of geoconservation and promotion of the geological heritage as well as events aimed at informing the wide public about geotouristic and educational activities in geoparks.
Thursday 28th of May – Magma will host International GEOfood webinar involving 7 UGG and many producers to present the new achievements and future development locally and internationally.
Monday 1st June Magma has been invited to join the GEOfood webinar organized by Villuercas UGG in Spain involving local producers and restaurants. Webinar will underline the importance of local communities and kmzero food within Geoparks
Wednesday 3rd of June Magma Geopark will spend the day with 5th graders from Eigerøy School. Using our educational app TeachOUT we will increase their local knowledge connected to geological-, natural and cultural heritage.
Saturday 6th of June Coastal Adventures Norway, our Active Partner, will have a group coasteering in the Egersund area. People of all ages have the possibility to play and challenge themselves along the wonderful rocky shoreline of Magma Geopark. They offer sustainable activities based on our geological heritage and uniqueness, and we are proud to have them as our Active Partners.
