Magma Geopark is happy to announce the positive feedback from the International Geoscience Programme Council concerning the GEOfood project 726 financed under the Special topic: Geoheritage for Sustainable Development in 2021, involving at that time 48 scientists from more than 23 Countries which are now 55 from 29 Countries.
The evaluation of the project was divided into three categories:
CATEGORY A: knowledge transfer, gender parity and number of young scientists involved in projects, the project score was between very good/Excellent.
CATEGORY B: the quality of the scientific research, including methods, objectives and study areas, the result was Very Good.
CATEGORY C: the extent of the project’s international collaboration, was Excellent.
We can now start the project second year where we will focus on development of specific tools for effective GEOfood implementation in UNESCO Global Geoparks and for supporting aspiring Geoparks in straighten the cooperation with local stakeholders.
