Magma UNESCO Global Geopark is grateful and proud to have been receiving funds from NORA (Nordisk Atlantsamarbeide) . These funds have been used to develop GeoVR in cooperation with the aspiring Geopark project on Faroe Islands ( Geological Survey of Faroes) , Katla UNESCO Geopark on Iceland and the UNESCO World Heritage site Ilulissat Icefjord on Greenland. The geoVR virtual reality project will establish one common virtual geological exhibition in all the territories involved into the project, educational material and information leaflets.
The two year project funded by NORA has supported the development of the Content Management System, provide partners with the exhibition’s equipment and it will include new destinations in the virtual platform, GeoVR. This opens for a virtual world where fantastic experiences and unique geology will be available for everybody, without causing hazards on vulnerable areas.
