Helleren
Helleren in Jøssingfjord is a unique and distinctive place with two small houses that are protected under a large natural rock, and has been used as a shelter by people for thousands of years.
In a world of shades of grey, the two small houses are in this very special light: Jøssingfjord and Helleren are surrounded by all the shades of gray found on the scale. Helleren, or "Hedlaren", forms a natural roof and shelter that has been used by people for thousands of years. The slab is large - the drop measures 10 meters at its deepest. The two houses are protected by Helleren, and that is also the reason why these houses and this Helleren provide a unique and distinctive experience.
Proceed carefully
We welcome the public to Helleren. But proceed carefully! The houses are not sized to be able to handle today's pleasant but at the same time high visitor numbers. Remember that Helleren belongs to all of us, not just us living today, but also those who come after us. In their dramatic modesty, the houses under Helleren are one of our finest cultural monuments.
- No more than 5 people in the houses at the same time

- All use of fire is prohibited
