Climbing in Sokndal - in close contact with nature
Experience Sokndal through a good mix of mastery, excitement and beautiful mountains. Anorthosite and gneiss are both sustainable and solid igneous rocks. They are very suitable for climbing and bouldering. There are marked climbing routes throughout the geopark, but especially in Eigersund and Sokndal.

The profile wall in Jøssingfjord
Jøssingfjord is surrounded by steep mountainsides and is a paradise for rock climbers. The most popular climbing area is Profile Wall, which features one of the world's toughest traditional routes, Recovery Drink (8c+).
The first attempts to climb the wall were made in October 1993. The wall lies in the valley on the left, just after you come out of the tunnel. The approach takes about 20 minutes, and is easiest to do by staying all the way under the walls on the right edge.
