Egersund is the place for fresh seafood, whether you're eating out or shopping at local outlets. In February 2026, the Seafood Festival will be held, with taste trains, snacks and activities across the town. An easy and great way to experience Egersund's food culture when the seafood is at its best!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Skadberg sand and the city centre harbour give you the opportunity for a cold bath - and just as important: a hot sauna afterwards. The combination of cold water and hot saunas makes bathing accessible and comfortable all year round, just minutes from the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pool is also popular with year-round swimmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3: Visit the four city centres<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

City peaks: Varbergtoppen, Kontrarifjellet\/Fl\u00f8yen, Kr\u00e5kefjellet and \u00c5rstadfjellet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Egersund has four well-known city mountains that are popular hiking destinations: Varberg, Kontrari, Kr\u00e5kefjellet and \u00c5rstadfjellet. These peaks are close to the town centre and offer great views of the town and nearby coastal landscape. The hikes are suitable for families, hikers and visitors who want an active break in the city centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a hike on one or more of the city's mountains, you can wander back to the city centre, where cosy eateries and caf\u00e9s await. Savour local dishes, coffee or perhaps an ice cream while reflecting on the views and experiences you've had in nature. This way you get fresh air, activity and the city's charming atmosphere all in one experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
