A round trip in the lunar landscape
Sometimes it's the road that's the goal, and in Magma Geopark you'll find country roads that get your blood pumping. Experience bends and hills along the sea or river, by bike, car or motorbike. Magma Geopark is an eldorado, and there is still plenty of space on the roads.
Get off the E39 and drive on the national tourist road along the coast, also called FV44. There are three entrance gates to Magma Geopark. If you drive from the north on FV44, you will see a clear change in landscape from Ogna and Sirevåg. Here it goes from a flat and cultivated landscape on Jæren, to a harsh lunar landscape. From the south it is the town of Flekkefjord which is the gateway to the national tourist road and Magma Geopark, and from the interior it is Byrkjedal and Gloppedalsura.
