Hellerstunet has a rich and exciting history that goes back 10,000 years to the Old Stone Age. Hellerstunet was, a few years ago, an ordinary vacated farmyard. In 2011, the farm was taken over by the current owners and an exciting historical journey began. Archaeological investigations in the area show finds from several settlement periods all the way back to the Old Stone Age. In the middle of the 19th century, Helleren was a cluster farm. Stories tell that in 1867 Helleren became a public transport station. In newspapers from the 19th century you can read that there were two merchants who sold coffee, Bavarian beer and spirits and there was a lot of activity in Helleren. Gamlefjose, an old stone barn, is the only building left from the cluster yard. The stone barn is now restored and the gem in the yard. Here we can welcome guests to a good meal and drinks in historic surroundings all year round.

From the stone barn from the 19th century, you can go straight to the barn from the early 20th century. There are good meeting facilities here in the summer and it can cater for around 80 people. Låven and Høyløe have a permanent art exhibition.

Attractions

Two larger areas are today protected, in addition to the characteristic Heller, you will find a Milestone, a Rodestein and a Syngestein in the yard. A model of the cluster yard shows how the yard looked when it was a shuttle station, 2 merchants and an old barn were in use.
