M/K Ørsdølen – A historic cruise

M/K Ørsdølen today runs tourist traffic on the 17 km long Ørsdalsvannet in Bjerkreim.

Ørsdølen was the last boat to run organized scheduled traffic on a lake in Rogaland. The traffic was formally discontinued in 1983.

Today's "Ørsdølen" is the third motorized boat on the Ørsdal waters, and it arrived in 1964. The first "Lillegut" was bought by the farmers in Ørsdalen in 1900, the second was built in 1923 and was also named "Ørsdølen".

Ørdølen's boat association

Today, it is the non-profit foundation Ørsdølen båtforening that runs Ørsdølen, with both open Sunday trips and events for companies/associations and other companies. The boating association has a liquor license both on board the boat and at the beautiful facility in Lauperak. Bringing things with you is strictly prohibited. We ask that everyone respects this. We have just as strict liquor controls as anyone else with a liquor licence.

The boating association arranges group trips with M/K Ørsdølen to idyllic Lauperak, where the boating association established a banquet hall in 1999.

Such group tours can be booked both weekends and weekdays.

A good option for company outings, celebrating birthdays, - or simply just for a special experience!

The facility in Lauperak has:

Seating under the roof for 60 people
Dance floor on the quayside
Large grill
Music system (but feel free to bring your own musician/orchestra)
