Galleri Gruvo - a cosy, small art cafe in the heart of Sokndal

Galleri Gruvo is a concept gallery that focuses on art, crafts and design. With us you can find small and large treasures from a multitude of artists and designers, as well as our own brand. Besides the sales exhibition, we have coffee, soft drinks and delicious ice cream. You can take away, enjoy outside at our pavement cafe, or inside in front of the fireplace. Whatever your errand - welcome!

Is a shop of, with and for art, crafts & design. Everything is made by hands that love what they do. Occasionally hosts small events. We sell various materials and equipment for painting etc., and have a cozy sofa corner where everyone is most welcome. Here you can enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, soft drink and delicious, homemade Italian ice cream. Hope you'll stop by - and see what we have to offer. Historic building

The house we live in, Gamleveien 35, was built at the end of the 19th century by the presumed first merchant in Hauge, Gustav Jensen Barstd (b.1856). The building has housed, among other things, E-verket's shop, office and workshop (around 1920), master shoemaker Vines (around 1935) and Urdals Sykkel & Sport (around 1980). And so now - after 4 years of operation in rented premises - gallery Gruvo opened its own doors in Gamleveien 35B, February 2022.
