Sivert Høyem takes autumn back
This we know: Autumn will once again darken the evenings, and it will feel good to crawl into Flekkefjord's Spira cultural centre and warm up to Sivert Høyem's powerful voice and strong songs.
Sivert Høyem is one of Norwegian music's foremost communicators, and this year he's embarking on an autumn tour with his fabulous band, which helps to make every concert feel like something quite extraordinary.
They bring with them songs from Høyem's two most recent and critically acclaimed albums:
On an Island, from 2024 - born in the weather-beaten parish house Zoar, surrounded by sea and wind in Nyksund and
Dancing Headlights from 2025 - a more electric affair, carrying with it the sound of night and neon lights.
Høyem's song catalogue encompasses both the silence and the storm. From low-key, naked songs you hardly dare to breathe to those that strike explosive sparks against the darkness, carried forward by a band that manages to capture every emotion and nerve.
In the concert set, the new songs are seamlessly interwoven with older gems such as "Moon Landing", "Into the Sea" and "Prisoner of the Road", as well as iconic Madrugada classics like "Majesty". There are no dead ends here, just essence - conveyed by an artist who lives in every second of what he sings.
We can't think of a better guide into the autumn darkness than Høyem and his musical cronies, and the treasure trove of a song catalogue they bring with them along the way.
