Extra Norwegian lesson with Papegøyen & ProfessorenIn September 2025, the parrot and the professor invited to a Norwegian lesson out of the ordinary at a sold-out Grand Scene in Egersund. After countless requests from the audience, there will now be an extra lesson in the culture centre. The same curriculum, but in a new classroom.Parrot, humourist and musician Rune Nilson and Professor Emeritus Jan Kristian Hognestad are both Egersund residents who are passionate about language, but with very different approaches.Rune has travelled the length and breadth of the country with his award-winning dialect journey and spoken his way through the country countless times, while Jan Kristian has enlightened the public both as a university professor, lecturer and as a regular language expert on NRK P2 for over 25 years. Where the parrot mimics and jokes with dialects, the professor is knowledgeable and thorough. And in this very special Norwegian hour, they combine their knowledge and talents in a humorous and educational journey through Norway's dialects and language history. Who would have thought that the Norwegian language could be so much fun?
