The lighthouse, which dates from 1854, is located in the sea gap, a short drive from Egersund town centre, and is part of the Magma UNESCO Global Geopark due to its unique lunar landscape. Egersund Fayancemuseum is part of Dalane Folk Museum and is centrally located in the old factory premises where Egersund Fayancefabrik / Egersunds Potteri was located from 1847-1979.
