Galleri Gruvo – A cozy art cafe in the heart of Sokndal

Galleri Gruvo is a concept gallery that focuses on art, crafts and design. Here you can find small and large treasures from a variety of artists and designers, as well as their own brand. Besides the sales exhibition, they have coffee, soft drinks and delicious ice cream. You can take away, enjoy outside at the pavement café, or inside in front of the fireplace.

A shop of, with and for art, crafts & design. Everything is made by hands who love what they do. Occasionally hosts small events. They sell various materials and equipment for painting etc., and have a cozy sofa corner where everyone is welcome. Here you can enjoy a freshly brewed coffee, soda and delicious, homemade Italian ice cream. Maybe you will find the perfect gift? The occasions are many and the selection is large. Welcome in!

Historic building

The house we are located in, Gamleveien 35, was built in the late 19th century by the presumed first merchant in Hauge, Gustav Jensen Barstd (b.1856). The building has housed, among other things, the E-verket store, office and workshop (around 1920), master shoemaker Vines (around 1935) and Urdals Sykkel & Sport (around 1980). And so now, after 4 years of operation in rented premises, gallery Gruvo opened its own doors in Gamleveien 35B, February 2022.
