Experience the lunar landscape on Eigerøy with an audio-guided tour!
The hike to Eigerøy Lighthouse is a 4.6-kilometer round trip through the characteristic lunar landscape, recognized by UNESCO. This is an easily accessible hike suitable for the whole family.
Along the way, you walk through ancient magma chambers that were 20 kilometers below the surface 930 million years ago. You also walk in a landscape shaped during the ice age. The rock that forms the lunar landscape is called anorthosite, and it is the same rock as the bright areas on the moon!
Along the path you will find several stops in the audio guide that explain what you see around you.
