Eigersund is a paradise for fishing enthusiasts who love fresh sea air and beautiful nature. With a rich coastal fishing tradition that has evolved from a necessity of life to a popular pastime, the Eigersund coast offers countless opportunities for recreation.

There are many good fishing spots along the coast, and a detailed sea fishing map for the municipality is available. If you want an extra experience, you can book a guided fishing trip or hire a boat from NAF Steinsnes Camping to explore the fishing waters from the sea.

Freshwater fishing and salmon fishing

Eigersund also offers some of the best salmon fishing in Norway. Tengselva is famous for the salmon's journey through the river and the salmon ladder - a fascinating experience for all ages. Bjerkreimselva also has a reputation as one of Norway's best salmon rivers, both nationally and internationally.

Practical information

Life jackets:
Can be borrowed from Dalane Friluftsråd (contact in advance).

Fishing licence fee:
Required for persons over the age of 18 who fish in watercourses with salmon and sea trout. The fee can be paid online.

Fishing licence:
Available from Inatur, Dalane Miljø- og Ressurslag and the County Governor of Rogaland, among others.
