Nature and outdoor activities in Sokndal

Experience Sokndal's spectacular nature up close! Here you can kayak to idyllic Sogndalstrand, climb in Jøssingfjord, fish for salmon in Sokna or explore marked hiking trails and cycle routes in a beautiful and varied landscape.

Take a trip in a kayak down Sokna and out to beautiful Sogndalstrand. Dalane Outdoor Council has a lot of equipment available if you want to rent or borrow.

In Jøssingfjord you'll find the Via Ferrata Migaren climbing trail. Experienced climbers can access the trail and hire equipment. Guided tours are also available for those who wish.

Sokndal offers great hiking opportunities in beautiful hiking terrain. There are many marked hiking trails and summit hikes. Sokndal is also part of the North Sea Trail, which has a signposted route between Jøssingfjord and Sogndalstrand.

The roads in Sokndal have little traffic and are ideal for cycling. There are 15 bikes for hire at Sogndalstrand Kulturhotell. At the guest harbour at Malmkaien, there are a few bikes for hire for visitors arriving by boat.
