Eigerøy lighthouse keeper's residence

A trip to Eigerøy lighthouse and accommodation in a lighthouse keeper's accommodation is perfect for those who want to enjoy nature in peace and quiet.

Welcome to Eigerøy lighthouse keeper residence! A few hundred meters from the lighthouse, among smooth-hewn rocks and wind-bent trees, is the lighthouse keeper's residence, which housed the keepers who operated the country's first cast-iron lighthouse. It's easy to enjoy yourself here!

A trip to Eigerøy lighthouse and accommodation in a lighthouse keeper's accommodation is perfect for those who want to enjoy nature in peace and quiet. Come to the car park at Eigerøy lighthouse by car or bicycle. The area is great for paddling and kayaking, but remember to check the wave forecast before setting out on a paddling trip in the sea.

The lighthouse keeper's home is located at the far end of Eigerøy, as far west as the country stretches here in the south, with the ocean as its nearest neighbour. It lies far enough into the lee that you are sheltered from the worst storm gusts, yet far enough out in the sea gap that you feel it when the wind rages outside. And although it's harsh when it's hot, the area around Eigerøy lighthouse is primarily an idyllic landscape with great opportunities for coastal outdoor activities. Here you can swim, fish, catch crabs and pick shells, paddle, row or go for a walk in the beautiful area.

Eigerøy is an excellent starting point for exploring the coast and the ocean, either by kayak, boat, swimwear or simply by strolling on land. Feel free to bring binoculars! The bustling birdlife makes Eigerøy a place where you may be lucky enough to see rare species during the migration season.
