Ørsdalsvatnet, the starting point for many great hikes and experiences

Ørsdalsvatnet is the starting point for boat trips, hikes, peak trips and trips to disused farms and hamlets.

Ørsdalsvatnet is 17 kilometers long. "M/K Ørsdølen" was the last boat that used organized scheduled traffic on a lake in Rogaland. Traffic on Ørsdalsvatnet was discontinued in 1983, when the farm Lauperak got a road connection. The boat has fixed trips in the summer season.

At the end of Ørsdalsvatnet you will find Ørsdalen. A slightly hidden valley and a hidden gem. The valley was not connected by road until the 1970s.

You can find Ørsdalen after Stavtjørn.

A historic boat trip

M/K Ørsdølen today runs tourist traffic on the 17 km long Ørsdalsvatnet in Bjerkreim. Ørsdølen was the last boat to run organized scheduled traffic on a lake in Rogaland. Traffic was formally discontinued in 1983. Today's "Ørsdølen" is the third motorized boat on Lake Ørsdal, it arrived in 1964. The first "Lillegut" was bought by the farmers in Ørsdalen in 1900, the second was built in 1923 and was also named "Ørsdølen ».
