Migaren Via Ferrata – Adrenaline in the steep mointain side

The Migaren Via Ferrata in Jøssingfjord takes you high up the steep mountain side with a fantastic view over the fjord with the Fokksteinane in the background. You look down on the old renovated power station, the Jøssingfjord Science Museum and the iconic houses under Helleren.

This is not the trip for those who struggle with a fear of heights. The trail is not particularly technically demanding, and you walk as much as you climb. But it is steep and high! It is therefore reccomended that you have climbed with a harness and sling before. The highlight of the trip is Migaren. In dry periods, this precipitous waterfall is just a trickle of water, while after rainy weather it gives you a solid shower.

Via Ferrata

Via Ferrata Migaren is a 400 meter long climbing route that winds along the Sellveggen and over a waterfall in JøssingSord.

The trip is partly on bolts in the mountains and has been named after the waterfall you have to cross along the way. The climb is easy in terms of difficulty, but will still provide a nice hiking experience, and a challenge for most. You don't need climbing experience when we take you with us, but you do need a viaferrata sling, a climbing harness and a climbing helmet. If you have a steep card, you can climb on your own.

People in good physical shape and with some experience from climbing/Via Ferrata. Not suitable for children under 12 and people with a fear of heights. In season, it is possible to hire a guide and then this is a great experience even for those without experience.

OTHER
Wear sturdy clothes and gloves to protect your hands from the mountains. Bring a dry change. Normally in good physical shape and used to traveling in nature.
