Lunch at Hauen Kro - a break in the treehouse town

In the centre of Egersund's listed wooden buildings, you'll find Hauen Kro, which serves homemade dishes in warm and intimate surroundings. What was once a barn and pigsty is now a popular eatery with a focus on good ingredients.

In the summer you can sit outside in the narrow backyard. A perfect place for a lunch break in one of the city's most charming parts.

City walk - wooden houses and hidden stories

Charming streets, preserved architecture and traces of past lives

Explore Egersund's well-preserved wooden houses, with buildings dating back to the 18th century. Take a stroll through Strandgaten, the former main street that was rebuilt after the town fire in 1843. In the Hauen area, you'll find a more organic street network, often referred to as the «medieval quarter», where streets and houses evolved over time.
