Artisan bakery on the seafront

In January 2026, Kanelsnurren opened its doors in Egersund, giving the town a new artisan bakery with roots in Danish baking tradition and modern gourmet thinking.

The bakery is located in the new Fayger jetty, idyllically situated on the seafront 200 metres from the city centre, past the tourist information centre. Here, guests can enjoy freshly baked goods in bright, modern and seaside premises, with a calm and cosy atmosphere and a view of the harbour.

Behind Kanelsnurren is Torben, who learnt the baking trade from his father in Denmark. From an early stage, it was clear which path he would take. After completing his training as a master baker, he moved from his hometown of Holstebro to Stavanger in 2009 to continue working in the industry.

In 2013, he and his partner Lærke realised their dream of owning their own bakery and opened the first Kanelsnurren. The aim was to create a modern gourmet bakery with a clear focus on quality and craftsmanship.

The concept is based on the use of pure and natural ingredients, long rising times and traditional baking methods - principles that are still central to all production. This has laid the foundation for further growth and more establishments around the country.

The branch in Egersund combines this bakery craft with an attractive location close to the sea, and has quickly become a natural stop for both residents and visitors who want good baking in pleasant surroundings.
