Håskog is a place of learning and experience, where the richness of nature is in focus. Through workshops in distillation, essential oils and botanical exploration, Håskog provides a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in sustainable interaction with nature in a unique natural landscape.
Culture, botanical forest and activities
Håskog is located in the spectacular landscape of Magma Geopark, known for its special geological formations and terrain. Surrounded by a unique forest of trees from many corners of the world and close to the sea, this is an ideal place to explore the many types of medicinal and aromatic plants that grow here. Here, visitors learn about the distillation of essential oils, the use of wild and cultivated plants, and how these can be integrated into everyday life for wellness and health.
At Håskog, you can take part in workshops that provide hands-on experience of collecting both wild and cultivated plants, and learn how to distil these into exclusive essential oils. These oils become part of our unique Norwegian product line, made with love for nature.
The rich diversity of plants includes varieties such as juniper, St. John's wort, noble fir, porcelain, marigold, thyme, peppermint, spruce, pine chamomile, meadowsweet and many more. During the workshops, you will be guided in identifying and harvesting plants, and experience how they are transformed through distillation into products with therapeutic properties.
This is a journey through both the wonders of nature and traditional knowledge, combined with modern methods to create sustainable and natural wellness products.
Geology and cultural history
As part of Magma Geopark, Håskog provides a unique connection to the region's geology. The landscape has been shaped by millions of years of natural development, providing an exciting backdrop for activities on the farm. The surrounding area is known for its special mountain landscape and a rich history of using natural resources.
Håskog also preserves Norwegian agricultural traditions with a modern twist, where permaculture and sustainability take centre stage. By working with wild plants and cultivated herbs, a tradition of respect and co-operation with nature is continued.
