Hawk knot

Høgeknuten is one of the four expert trails in this year's (2025) StikkUT! competition. The trail is 9.8 km long and you have to climb 804 vertical metres. The trail is labelled "Expert", which means that the trail is suitable for experienced mountaineers with good physical fitness, strength and endurance, as well as good hiking equipment and good knowledge of maps and compasses.

This is an unmarked tour without a turbo box. Registration with mobile app only.

About your trip

It is possible to start from Eigelandsdalen in Eigersund or Rusdal in Hovsherad (Lund). Bleikheia is located between Rusdal in Hovsherad and Eikelandsdalen in Eigersund. The narrow and open moorland offers magnificent views and fairly easy terrain, once you get up from the valley. The landscape is open and pleasant to walk in. The cairn on Høgeknuten soon points towards the horizon. The view from the top invites you to take a spacious break before returning the same way.
