Torsøyene

Well organised outdoor recreation area in Lafjord (Flekkefjorden) with many facilities.

Wooden jetties with plenty of space, footbridges between the islands. Gazebo, barbecue hut, pavilion, grassy areas, sandy beach and good swimming opportunities. Ten tables, benches and several barbecues. Water tap and toilets. Good hiking opportunities.

Torsøyene is located on the eastern side of the fjord at the entrance to Flekkefjord, just below the steep slope of Lafjell.

Torsøyene consists of two islands, Lille and Store Torsøy. Both islands have hilly terrain with mixed forest with pine as the main tree species. Blueberries and reed canary grass dominate in the field layer. Lawn has been laid out at the organised sites. A footbridge across the narrow strait connects the two islands. Torsøyene was given as a gift from the local bank to the people of Flekkefjord.

Torsøyene is a popular destination for travellers on the fjord. The well-organised jetties also allow deep-draught boats to dock. The sandy beach and lawns provide good opportunities for swimming and playing.
