Dalane Folk Museum

Seasonally open folk museum. The department at Slettebø near Egersund was originally magistrate Christian Feyer's old country house with a main building, farm manager's residence and carriage shed from the 1850s, as well as a gazebo from the 1830s which stands in the museum garden.

In the main building, you’ll find environmental exhibitions that showcase style history from the 18th and 19th centuries. These provide a good picture of everyday life for both the clergy and the peasantry. Hidden in nooks and crannies are a number of cultural and historical treasures, such as old silver jewelry and church art. Particularly notable is the impressive collection of stove plates and stoves from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The crafts department has workshops for several types of crafts, including rock-maker, clock-maker, comb-maker, beech-maker, carpentry and wooden shoe-maker. In the agricultural department, agricultural implements and vehicles from the 19th century are on display. The school house from the 1890s gives an insight into how teaching took place then.
