Gloppedalsura Via Ferrata – climbing tour in Northern Europe's largest scree

The Gloppedalsura Via Ferrata takes you inside Northern Europe's largest stone scree. You don't climb very high, but move all the more between and under the huge boulders. You'll be thankful for the helmet when you're eeling through tight passages.

Midway you are at the highest point of the trail, which is also a fantastic vantage point perfect for those unique photos. Those with a fear of heights feel an extra tickle in the stomach when they go over the edge and down after enjoying the majestic view. We promise a unique experience that is just as suitable for the whole family as it is for a group of friends on a trip.

Via Ferrata

The climbing route (Via Ferrata) is equipped with fixed points and safety lines that you hook onto using a climbing harness. This provides a safe and good experience for both young and old. Some of the parts can be a bit demanding due to height differences, and an adult must be with children under 14 to ensure that the safety belts are used correctly. The round trip takes approx. 1.5–2 hours.

The climbing route is suitable for families with children, groups of friends and groups. Children should be over 125 cm and there must be one adult per child under 14 years of age.

Gloppedalsura is located on county road 503 between Veen and Byrkjedalstunet, on the border between Bjerkreim and Gjesdal. You can arrive both from Byrkedalstunet and from Vikeså/Bjerkreim.

Wear sturdy clothes and gloves to protect your hands from the mountains. Normally in good physical shape and used to traveling in nature.
