Small cabins

You can look forward to a different kind of accommodation with a great view out to sea. One of the cabins (Nyperosa) is furnished with a large double bed. The bed is equipped with pillows and two duvets, but you must bring bedding (sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases) to remove what is on top of this. The other cabin is not rented out, but is open to everyone to sit and philosophize in or have a cup of coffee in simple surroundings.

The cabins do not have running water or a toilet, but there is a toilet near the cabins. We ask you to sweep the floors before you leave the cabins.
Bring your trash! Nyperosa is equipped with smoke detectors and fire extinguishers, but be careful with open flames. Only tealights in suitable candle holders are permitted in the cabins. There is a barbecue area outside.

History

The art installation "Små Hytter" is a project created by Solveig Egeland and designed by architect Arne Åmland. Solveig Egeland's vision is to bring people and nature together; “The aim of the installation is to make people listen. To the wind and the silence. To see the bird life up close. To feel the raindrops drumming on the roof. To understand why we need to protect nature and the environment. Through use, people should experience closeness to nature and thus begin to reflect.” This is how the art project that Hidra School took over in 2012 is presented. Two small cabins, painted in contrasting colours, placed in a powerful landscape with a view of the archipelago and the open sea, surrounded by an exciting and historic cultural landscape. The place is one of the municipality's most visited destinations, and the cabins themselves are visited by several thousand people.
