On wild country roads in Magma Geopark
A route with four remarkable stops in Magma UNESCO Global Geopark
The road winds through valleys, rocky landscapes and small wooden villages as you drive through Magma UNESCO Global Geopark. The drive is not long in kilometres. Still, it's a journey that deserves plenty of time.
On this tour, the journey itself is the experience. Winding country roads, small wooden villages and dramatic landscapes make the trip through Magma Geopark something very special. There are viewpoints, hiking trails, museums and small villages along the route. Some stop for a break by the fjord. Others explore the landscape on foot.
You can start your journey in Stavanger and drive south towards Byrkjedal. Or you can come from Kristiansand, head towards Flekkefjord and start your journey by the sea. Whichever direction you choose, this is a road trip that is best experienced with plenty of time for stops along the way.
