Looking for an easy and short hike? Head up and check out the ancient sculpture of the Rossland God in Sokndal.
The Rossland god is a figure of a man's head, which is carved from a local rock (ilmenite norite). It is about 60 cm high. Its origin and age are highly controversial, but experts today believe that the head is prehistoric. The original Rosslandsguden was brought to Dalane Folkemuseum in 1910 and is now on display at Jøssingfjord Vitenmuseum for the enjoyment of the public.
