THE ARTISTS IN THE EXHIBITION ARE: Anna Carin Hedberg, Ebba Moi, Hanna Sjöstrand, Linda Lamignan, Lisa Torell, Pierre Lionel Matte, Simon Daniel Tegnander Wenzel, Siri Austeen and Tove Kommedal. The works are based on the landscape of Sokndal and personal encounters with the extensive nature interventions associated with mining. Since the start of the program in 2023, meetings with researchers, local residents and representatives from the mining industry have contributed to a broad and nuanced understanding of the situation in the village. Based on these experiences, combined with own references and strong artistic practices, works have been developed that together form a complex exhibition on the theme of DEPARTURE / LANDFILL. The exhibition includes sound art, installation, painting, video, performance, sculpture and workshops. The works are presented both indoors and outdoors at Sandbekk, as well as in a separate partial exhibition at Jøssingfjord Science Museum. WELCOME! Anna Carin Hedberg, Ebba Moi, Hanna Sjöstrand, Linda Lamignan, Lisa Torell, Pierre Lionel Matte, Simon Daniel Tegnander Wenzel, Siri Austeen, Tove Kommedal The artists have worked closely with the landscape of Sokndal, and based on personal encounters with the major natural interventions from mining. Since we started the program in 2023, they have had the opportunity to meet researchers, local residents and representatives from the mining industry who have helped give them a rich and varied understanding of the situation here in the village. With lots of impressions and nuanced perspectives at the core, mixed with their own references and strong artistic practice, they have created works that constitute a complex exhibition on the theme of DEPARTURE / LANDFILL. The exhibition consists of artistic expressions such as sound art, installation, painting, video, performance, sculpture and workshops. It is all shown indoors and outdoors at Sandbekk, and with a separate section in Jøssingfjord Science Museum. WELCOME!
